I’m sharing this cautiously, because it’s not my sighting — it’s something someone beside me witnessed as a child in 1970s Yorkshire. They described a bright light that appeared suddenly, moved erratically for a second or two, then shot off across the sky at extreme speed. No sound. Not like planes or helicopters of the time. What’s stayed with me is that decades later, I heard an almost identical description from someone else, from the same era, in a different part of northern England.
