Did Bigelow Aerospace Get Shut Out Right When Things Got Interesting?
Thought I’d share something interesting I was sent recently. A woman I know, who is genuinely a friend of Robert Bigelow, (EVIDENCE PROVIDED BELOW) shared this message with me about what was going on around Bigelow Aerospace. So this isn’t just something random I found online — it came directly from someone in his circle. According to her, Bigelow Aerospace had the Sundancer project moving along and even carried out a successful propulsion test back in 2009 in Alabama. From the way she described it, the company was making real progress and things were looking promising. For people who do not know what the Sundancer Project was i have added brief description below and provided a link to an article The Sundancer project was a proper space station idea put together by American businessman Robert Bigelow through his company Bigelow Aerospace. The plan was to build a private space habitat that could orbit Earth and be used by astronauts, scientists, or even private missions. It wasn’t just some rumour knocking about either — it was an actual engineering project with real designs and funding behind it. 🚀 The Sundancer module itself was meant to be an inflatable space station, which basically means it launches packed down small and then expands once it’s up in space, giving loads more room inside. The tech came from earlier research done with NASA and then developed further by Bigelow’s team. It was meant to be lighter, cheaper to launch, and give astronauts more living space than traditional metal modules. Before even thinking about launching Sundancer, Bigelow tested the idea properly with two prototype spacecraft called Genesis I and Genesis II. These were sent into orbit in 2006 and 2007 and proved that inflatable habitats could actually work in space. That showed the concept wasn’t just talk — it had already been tested for real. Later on, the technology got even more credibility when a similar inflatable module called BEAM was sent to the International Space Station in 2016. That mission was done in partnership with NASA to see how the expandable habitat handled space conditions long-term, and it worked well enough that it stayed attached longer than planned. So even though the Sundancer station itself never ended up launching, the project was 100% a real aerospace effort — not speculation or conspiracy talk. It was one of the first serious attempts by a private company to build a commercial space station, pushing the idea that space could eventually be open to more than just government agencies. But then, apparently, they started running into serious gatekeeping, particularly around claims that Bigelow’s team were close to gaining access to alleged extraterrestrial craft materials. She said it never ended up happening. Not long after that, Bigelow seemed to become persona non grata in certain circles, stepped back quite a bit, and the company eventually shut down. I’m not posting this claiming it proves anything — just sharing what she told me because the timeline seems a bit strange from the outside and I’m curious what people who’ve followed Bigelow Aerospace think. Bigelow Aerospace Fast-Tracks Manned Spacecraft | Space Here’s the message she sent me: Could be—Bigelow aerospace had the Sundancer project and a successful test of the propulsion happened in 2009 in Alabama. It’s public knowledge. But for some reason, Bigelow ran into gatekeepers and seems to have been shut out—right before his team was on the verge of gaining access to alleged extraterrestrial material from a craft. It never happened. It’s as if he suddenly became persona non grata and he stepped back quite a bit, shutting down the company.
