For nearly a decade, one debunker has been the go-to "other side" on the most studied UFO videos in history. Mick West built a career explaining the Navy's Gimbal, Tic Tac, and Go Fast UAP videos away as misidentified jets, camera artifacts, sun glares - anything but anomalous. Today, that career runs out of runway. Marik von Rennenkampff served as a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Defense under Secretaries Panetta and Hagel, then as an analyst at the State Department's Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation. He's an opinion contributor at The Hill, hosts The Sol Briefing at the Sol Foundation, and is the co-author of an AIAA conference paper on the January 2015 Gimbal video. This week he released a 20-minute analysis that methodically falsifies every prosaic explanation Mick West and his MetaBunk forum have offered for Gimbal. The findings: the Gimbal object was 6 to 8 nautical miles from the F-18 that recorded it - close range, not the 30+ mile distant jet Mick West has claimed for years. Stabilized footage shows the targeting pod camera panning downward as the jet closes in. The 3D flight path reconstruction matches Lt. Ryan Graves' radar memory to the second, including a vertical U-turn with an altitude climb at the end. The object: roughly 15 to 20 feet across. No wings. No engine. No exhaust plume. Moving against 120-knot winds. The Mick West takedown is total. The ATFLIR patent holder told Marik directly, in phone calls and emails, that the targeting pod camera does not operate the way Mick West's distant-jet theory requires. Top academic experts in indium antimonide infrared technology agree. When confronted with the new analysis, Mick West dismissed it on his own MetaBunk forum while admitting in the same post that he had not watched it in full. We pull the thread up on the show and read his response. The pattern is consistent: when challenged on the strongest counter-evidence, the debunkers go silent. The Sean Kirkpatrick beat may be worse. Kirkpatrick, the former director of AARO (the Pentagon's UAP analysis office), told Marik twice that the Gimbal video shows a balloon reflecting the sun. The video was filmed at night, against 120-knot winds.
