I'm surprised more people aren't celebrating Grusch's latest. UFOs, non-human intelligence — yeah, we've been there. The kicker for me is buried elsewhere: he's saying aaaaallll THIS is somehow going to work out well for us. First real signal I've seen addressing life after the ontological shock. It's going to be ok. Two lines did it for me. 1) "The U.S. government does have a lot of information that I think will inspire Gen Alpha and Gen Z and the American populace at large and it will be a new era." In a sea of hedged bets, double-talk, and "I can't reveal details" — that's not just optimistic. That's an inspired future. And it's what Grusch wants you to walk away with. 2) "Be comforted that the universe is teeming with life, it seems, and readily able to be explored." Wait, what? Teeming. AND readily explorable. Dare I say not only are we not alone, but the universe appears to have an on-ramp. Even his delivery is comforting. Upbeat about the other side of disclosure. The shock is real and not a trifle — but afterward sounds amazing. This beats the hell out of civilization crashing, demons ffs, mass suicides, and other doom scenarios.
