I spotted this slowly moving light in the sky this evening just after dusk. No sound other than what you hear in the video which was a vehicle driving past in the background. Location is Sunshine Coast, BC Canada.
I first noticed it through a window as it passed high overhead. Quite a bit brighter than stars or planets at this point in the evening. Video started just after I got out there as the light slowly faded away. No clouds in the sky for the most part. I did not see any aircraft beacon or flashing lights of any sort. I’ve seen Chinese lanterns elsewhere in the past but this did not look like one to me as I watched it go by overhead. All the Chinese lanterns I’ve ever seen had a warm slightly flickering glow about them. This light had a cooler tone to it and although some flicker appears evident in the clip I did not notice it in person. Looked to be quite high up. Video was taken on iPhone 13 Pro. I stabilized the phone against my deck railing to keep the shot steady with foreground and surroundings visible as a point of reference. submitted by /u/hashtagmiata [link] [comments]
