Time: September 2023 9/23/23 Location: long stretch of country highway in between two small towns of a couple thousand, Lebanon, and cassville Missouri we were in between at about 2 am. And what makes it so cool is we were following eachother driving back up to Columbia no for school, so had two sets of eyes on it, while on the phone in our cars, in an area with nothing but cow fields, and no other cars on the road. I saw a ufo. me and my partner were In college 4 hours drive away from our tiny hometowns. we’d often drive back for family events meaning we’d often leave family events at 10pm and be driving through back country highways at 1,2,3 am to get back to the city for classes and work. We would call eachother and follow eachother up in our 2 cars and speak on the phone to keep entertained. In my field of view in a small country highway with no other cars and probably about 20 miles to the nearest town of a couple thousand (Camdenton mo), we saw a light blue orb shoot across our field of vision about a little slower than the speed of a shooting star, it interrupted our conversation as we both say WHOA WHAT IS THAT! But it’s light blue. And appeared about the size of a golf ball from my windshield so pretty good size, quite bigger than a shooting star. It seems closer too. It goes from a speed of faster than a shooting star to just stopping up ahead of us probably 800ft in the sky or so, (estimate from being a drone pilot) and instantly stops. No noise no nothing. We are in disbelief and saying oh my god how can it be that fast and stop like that? As I looked at it I could slightly see it appeared to be spinning in place, like it was a slowly rotating circle. After about 4 seconds, it went from completely stopped to, shooting star speed again the same as it started, appearing to have 2 speeds, fast, or completely still. It did not have any in between or slowing down between movements. I’d never seen anything like it. So back to the story, after that about 4 second pause on the right side of the highway, it resumes full speed over to over a field on the left side of the highway taking only seconds. stopped again pure freeze frame, over a cow field, but this time almost as soon as it stopped it changed angle 90 degrees and went towards the ground as fast as it had been doing everything, we each expected a BOOM from the speed it went, but it was completely silent, and completely fast, and could stop on command. We both saw it, in different cars, while on the phone, confirming what we were seeing, and watching it seemingly break the laws of physics. I am a drone pilot, and you can hear them up there. And they start up, and take off, and second this wasn’t like a light in the sky like our planes appear, you could see it, it was a light blue orb, when it stopped for the about 4 seconds, I could almost make out some kind of lines running Across its center and another part. It was pretty close to us, maybe even only about 500 feet.
