If the phenomenon is real, why is there still no definitive physical evidence?
One thing I've been wondering about is this: If a non-human intelligence has truly been interacting with humanity for decades or even centuries why is there still no universally accepted piece of physical evidence that can be openly studied and independently verified by scientists around the world? The most common answer is that governments are hiding it. That's certainly possible. Governments have kept major secrets before. But we're talking about a phenomenon that is allegedly global, recurring, and observed across different countries, cultures, and generations. At some point, wouldn't we expect something undeniable to emerge outside of government control? A fragment, an artifact, a device, or some form of physical evidence that clearly stands apart from known human technology and can be freely analyzed by independent researchers. This is where I find myself stuck. On one hand, I don't find it convincing to dismiss every report as misidentification, hoaxes, psychological factors, or folklore. Some cases are genuinely strange, and some involve witnesses that many people would consider credible. On the other hand, after more than 70 years of reports, investigations, alleged crash retrievals, military encounters, leaked documents, and whistleblower claims, we still don't seem to have a single piece of evidence that has produced a broad scientific consensus regarding a non-human origin. That raises an interesting question. Are we simply dealing with a collection of unrelated phenomena that people keep grouping together under the same label? Or are we making a deeper mistake by assuming the phenomenon must be physical in the conventional sense? If some reports genuinely describe a real phenomenon, could it be something that doesn't fit neatly into our current understanding of matter, space, and time? Could it be an unknown natural phenomenon, something related to consciousness, a misunderstanding of reality itself, or something we haven't even considered yet? I'm not claiming any of these explanations are correct. In fact, they may all be wrong. What interests me is that every major hypothesis seems to leave important questions unanswered. The extraterrestrial hypothesis has unanswered questions. The psychological hypothesis has unanswered questions. The plasma hypothesis has unanswered questions. The interdimensional hypothesis has unanswered questions. So I'm curious: If the lack of definitive physical evidence is real, does that suggest we're looking in the wrong direction entirely? Or do you believe the answer is still something purely physical that we simply haven't identified yet? submitted by /u/Greedy_Crazy8758 [link] [comments]
