I'd really like help pinpointing the story, but in Elementary school I was really into this topic, and read a book on alien contact stories, one story had drawings, I can't remember the finer details, but the man drew like... 9 feet tall fur-covered bi-pedal aliens with like... wormy-looking appendages coming out of the center of where a human face would be, where human ears would be, and one coming out of the top of their head. that image always stuck with me, if anyone can help find the story that'd be sick. I think it was mentioned these tendrils could generate electricity? I'm not sure on that.
