Kenneth Arnold, the first high profile UFO witness of the modern era, read it and would quote it in his lectures that year. Going by the article, it looks like DeWitt Miller doesn't just discuss quite a few pre-Arnold UFO reports but also considers several more exotic theories about the topic that would later be popularised by Jacques Vallée and his ilk. For example the one about UFOs originating with a human secret society based here on Earth (which Vallée considers in "The Edge of Reality" from 1975), or them originating from another dimension outside our time and space.
