Time: July 3, 2025 at 12:33am Location: Just south of Mendota CA off of I5. Directly west of Cantua Creek I saw this in the middle of the night on a drive with my girlfriend to norcal. We both saw a single large bright dot in the sky and it was moving quickly to the west. It had a trail of light coming off of it so I assumed it was a meteor but then very suddenly it changed directions. Then it changed angles a few more times before suddenly splitting into 3 bright dots. They moved around the sky for 10 seconds before joining back into one light. This is when the recording starts. In the clip, you can see one bright orb and then 2 others appear. The video does not show the ‘joining’ of the orbs we saw or the trails of light off of the initial orb but interesting nonetheless. The video ends as it looked like they were landing but they popped back up into the sky and headed south out of view. I suppose these could be drones but I haven’t seen any drones with light trails coming off of them or maneuvering that close to one another.
