Strange moving light captured in long exposure photos (Mexico City)
I took these long-exposure photos (3 seconds each) last year in Mexico City, and I’ve been going back to them because I still can’t quite explain what I’m seeing. In all the shots, the stars behave exactly as expected they remain mostly consistent, showing the typical slight movement caused by Earth’s rotation over time. However, there is one object that stands out clearly from the rest. Unlike the stars, this light shows a noticeable and unusual movement pattern that doesn’t match anything else in the frame. What’s even more strange is that about an hour later, this same “star” is no longer visible at all, while all the other stars remain in their expected positions and motion. I’m not jumping to conclusions, but I also can’t confidently identify what this could be. It doesn’t seem to behave like a star, plane, or typical satellite (at least from what I know). Has anyone seen something similar or has any idea what could cause this kind of movement? Would love to hear thoughts or possible explanations. https://preview.redd.it/aww93mlhyuxg1.jpg?width=1485&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=948a4593447832366f67560c92aaca380b813b4e https://preview.redd.it/ogfmo3lhyuxg1.jpg?width=1546&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=152413c7da4042b5d69fe37a0c11920004dee3f3 https://preview.redd.it/vhfqp3lhyuxg1.jpg?width=1530&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eaf66a20223352e0397f955aaf264968d17a4100 https://preview.redd.it/97szx3lhyuxg1.jpg?width=1493&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfc1ca4931ec0fd55e2686b0ccf84d8c8c3592d6 https://preview.redd.it/iyqxa3lhyuxg1.jpg?width=452&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bda2460b3e09228d7133e49f3be01f9396ef780c submitted by /u/Lucianaliacs [link] [comments]
