The Belgium UFO Wave (1989–1990): 13,500 witnesses, two F-16 intercepts, and no explanation that makes sense.
Between November 1989 and April 1990, over 13,500 people across Belgium reported the same thing: a large, silent, triangular craft with lights at each corner. Witnesses included police officers, military personnel, and civilians across dozens of separate incidents. The Belgian Air Force didn't ignore it, instead they launched F-16s twice. On the night of March 30–31, 1990, the jets got radar lock, and lost it. Whatever they were tracking accelerated beyond their range and ability to intercept. There's also the photograph. For years it was considered the most credible UFO image in existence until the man who took it said he faked it. Others said he was paid to say he faked it to throw people off. I've been digging into the sources on this one, the official Belgian Air Force report, the SOBEPS investigation, the radar data, and wrote it up in full. Happy to discuss any of it here. submitted by /u/Traditional-Camp8720 [link] [comments]
