The Bob Lazar resurgence is mind-boggling
Every time I read comments about this guy recently, it feels like I'm losing grasp on my sanity. It's just so mind-bogglingly stupid. It seems like Jeffrey Epstein completely broke people's brains and people's approach to conspiracy theories is now, "yes, this is true" by default. Zero questions asked. The worst offender I keep seeing is the claim that Lazar somehow "predicted element 115." No, this is just not true. Anyone can theorize about hypothetical elements. There's nothing impressive about the fact that the element with number 115 eventually got discovered. And I would like to publicly announce to everyone on this subreddit that real UFO's are actually fuelled by Element 121. Set up your reminders because you'll be coming back to this post once it gets discovered. Just make sure to conveniently disregard the fact that my description of Element 121 doesn't match the actual element. Like... anyone with literal high school education (ie knowing what the periodic table looks like) can call bullshit on this narrative. Bear in mind, this is not me saying that Bob Lazar is a fraud, but people's lack of critical thinking and scepticism is just terrifying. There are holes in Lazar's story. Holes interviewers like Joe Rogan refuse to interrogate. They just take his word for everything he says with zero pushback. My biggest problem with the story really is not really his lack of education credentials or other things. It's the fact that everything about it feels like it was engineered for maximum shock value. Look at how actual whistleblowers like Edward Snowden were treated by the state. Snowden had to flee to Russia to avoid prosecution. Lazar was never actively pursued by the state for treason. And if Lazar actually broke his agreement with the government (assuming he had), he would be in jail. No federal prosecutor would avoid prosecuting Lazar just because it might "add credence to his story," because law doesn't work that way. Getting prosecuted for breaking an NDA ≠ everything you say is true. submitted by /u/twinkleyed [link] [comments]
