Thinking about taking a break from following the UFO topic
Call me cynical, but in my opinion, the UFO podcast circuit has become very diluted and way way way too commercialized. For example- I used to thoroughly enjoy watching Night Shift on YouTube. But now they are putting their own advertisements for their own brand of coffee within the podcast episodes. Like wtf guys? Do y'all not make enough money off of the t shirts and superchats people pay for during the couple live streams you do in a single week? And I would understand why you're doing that if y'all actually were trying to do more than going to repetitive congressional hearings and contact in the desert but in all fairness, what more can y'all really do than go to those two things? Like come on guys. The same goes for Patrick from Vetted, and Jesse Michels from American Alchemy. I used to enjoy both of their shows but I'm tired of them trying to sell me some dumb shit I'm not interested in just to fill their pockets. Two years ago there were only a handful of UFO podcasts that were floating around and now everybody and their brother have one. And the ones I used to enjoy are doing their own advertisements for products on top of YouTube's ads and the channels pushing merch on us. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be disrespectful or a cynic. But this community, especially when it comes to YouTube, has changed drastically within the last 2 years. submitted by /u/Terrible_Sample_5819 [link] [comments]
