Time: 5/29/2026 10:12pm Location: Rural Oregon Coast My neighbor was on the porch and called over to me saying he saw a bright, incandescent light like a star bounce straight over the ridge. Our place is at the far edge of a tiny valley, and we saw it floating and drifting above the closest ridge: about a mile away and 600 ft tall. Seeing as the encounter was about 6 and a half minutes, and the whole valley is barely 2 miles wide, I reckon whatever it is had to be moving somewhere in the 15-20mph range. It made no sound, and just slowly drifted over the horizon, starting from the east and disappearing west. As I took the video I held it as close to level with the horizon as I could. It's a tad shaky, but this model of sony has a small gyro in the lens which helps. Whatever it was, I've never seen a plane, helicopter, or any other kind of craft move like this with no sound.
