Time: 4/16/2026 11:00pm-1:00am Location: Gulf of Mexico near Cozumel Ok here it goes, so this past Thursday evening my family and I were aboard the Carnival Jubilee and it was a port day in Cozumel. We left the port at approximately 4:00pm. Later that evening, around 11pm, we went out onto our balcony and almost immediately started to see what looked like large glowing orbs of light doing unbelievable maneuvers in and out of the ocean. We filmed around 8-9 minutes of footage but it was clear to us pretty quickly that iPhones just don’t do it justice so we just watched it until we stopped seeing it. We went back in the room around 1am so the sighting lasted around 2 hours. There were too many orbs to count and they could instantly shoot straight up into the sky or shoot straight down into the water. They were capable of hovering and remaining still and also blasting off at speeds that aren’t supposed to be possible. They would approach the cruise ship and get very close to us and seemed aware of us? At that point my husband and I would get scared and go inside for a minute before going back out. They went underwater and you could see them below the surface because they were very bright. They did appear to be able alter their shape and I have no idea how else to explain that but it’s true and was noted multiple times by my husband and I. The orbs were silent and would be bright but sort of transparent when they got close. We saw something that looked like wings in the orb more than once. They never looked like flying saucers, nothing metallic or manmade. After a while, we still saw them but they weren’t orbs anymore. They were cloudy looking camouflaged grey flying things. These are harder to describe and maybe they were something different. I know this all sounds crazy but it is true. We do not drink, smoke, consume THC or any drugs. We don’t want to report this to anyone because they’d think we were nuts. There were other people on the decks and we don’t know if anyone else saw or not. It seems impossible that nobody else saw it. There were lots of people shouting on lower decks but they just might have been drunk and hanging out. I have no idea what we saw but I am absolutely certain of what it wasn’t. It was not flying fish or sea birds getting caught in the ship lights. We have seen those on many cruises and they look weird but this was nothing like that. It was not sea foam or bioluminescence. It would shoot above our heads and we would be looking up to see it. We were on the 10th floor of the ship, for reference. It was not a plane or helicopter. It was definitely not flares. We did initially wonder if they were drones but the capabilities quickly ruled that out. Unless it was some sort of extremely advanced military technology that the public is not aware of but it would be weird to test that right in front of a cruise ship. There were other cruise ships in the ocean that night also so someone from another ship could have seen. I kind of don’t know what to make of it.
