Time: 7:42 PM Thursday April 2nd 2026 Location: Austin TX So obviously this happened a few weeks back, but it’s been on my mind ever since, I wanted to post this but i didn’t know if I was looking too much into it and if this was just me tripping out but ofc it’s weird and when I showed my friends they agreed it was strange and suggested that I post this to Reddit. So I’m curious what people think. I was outside on Thursday, April 2nd around 7:42 PM, just walking around while the sun was starting to set. I noticed what I initially thought was the evening star (like Venus), just a bright white dot in the sky. But then I realized something was off. Firstly I couldn’t see any features like wing or tail of an aircraft, second there wasn’t any sort of visible contrails from an aircraft that would be that high up in the atmosphere. Also it was an object that was traveling extremely fast. Most importantly It wasn’t moving in a straight line. This had this really irregular, almost erratic movement. I’ve seen satellites before, especially at night, and I know they can look a little strange sometimes, but they always move steadily. This didn’t. Even in person (and in the video I took), it just didn’t behave like any satellite I’ve seen before. I started recording (apologies in advance for the shaky hand), but I was honestly pretty thrown off watching it. You can even hear myself on video ask if I’m tripping bc of the way it was moving. My first instinct was to check if it could be the ISS, but I looked it up and the International Space Station wasn’t visible from Austin, Texas at that time. Here’s where it gets weirder. I sent the video to my brother, he’s also into this kind of stuff, and he sends me back a video of something REALLY similar that he saw in Houston… which is about 200 miles away. Similar kind of object also in the sky around the same time, maybe 30 mins after I sent him my video. I’ll post the video and our exchange over text if anyone’s interested. Honestly one of the eeriest things I’ve experienced. Not jumping to conclusions, but it definitely didn’t match anything I’m familiar with. Curious what you guys think.
