So if we make the assumption that these neighbors of ours can make any kind of sensor they want at any size they want, then any sensor UAP could be compact and probably spherical. So then we're left with the tentacles being for a physical purpose, sweeping through the air. But even humans don't need that "form factor" to read what molecular mix the air consists of. So maybe they exist to physically sweep up what isn't air, AKA airborne microbes?
